Cobham Cavaliers gained a superb victory over Reigate Priory last Wednesday to claim third place in the Surrey Walking Cricket Cup. This win, capped a great season which saw further victories over Epsom Throughbreds, Wimbledon Windmillers and The Change Foundation Wallington.
Two close defeats to Old Woking Remnants and Valley End Predestrians prevented us from coming second to the undefeated Champions Normandy Potterers. Overall, this season was a big improvement over last, with several new players playing a big part.
There is now 25 plus Cavaliers who regularly enjoy our weekly Thursday sessions, on top of competitive and friendly fixtures all over Surrey and beyond. In fact in just over 4 years, Walking Cricket from its original base here at Convent Lane, has now grown to over 30 clubs across the county.
We were also delighted to have four Cavaliers (marked with yellow dots in the photo above) represent Surrey Walking Cricket in the annual fixture against Kent Walking Cricket.
Should any Cobham Avorians players (current or Ex) who are over 50 and available to play on Tuesday and/or Thursday mornings wish to join us on this exciting journey, they are more than welcome to and may be next year, who knows!!
