19th October 2006 - Avorians Golf Day
This
years Cobham Avorians CC Golf Four Ball Competition will to be held
at the Silvermere Golf Club on Thursday 19th October. This is a great
opportunity to enjoy 18 holes of golf, a three course silver service
meal , prize giving and auction in the private Lake Suite. The cost
is only £50
per player which represents incredibly good value
and is a perfect opportunity to invite friends or business colleagues/clients.
Everyone is welcome and we are looking for at least 52 players making
up 4 balls. Everyone who would like to register an interest or reserve
places should contact John Lane on 07985 948844. These places will
go quickly so phone John as soon as possible. Please try your best
to attend and bring some people as this is a great opportunity to
raise money for the club. If you would like to donate an auction
prize please let John know.
200 Club Reminder
Matt has asked me to remind you that it's never too late to sign
up for the 200 Club. The next draw will be at the end of this month
and then every month end going ahead. Tickets cost £5 per month
and can be ordered via Standing Order or Cheque via the front page
of our website (www.avorianscc.co.uk)
Results will start to be published each month via the website and this newsletter.
Half the total fund goes to the winner, half to the club to help
raise funds. Please sign up now to help us and be in with a chance
of winning.
Fireworks Night - Saturday 4th November
Please don't forget to let us know how may of you will be attending
our fireworks night this year. Last year we welcomed over 150 people
and look forward to seeing e evryone again. Click

2006 Annual General Meeting
This years meeting has been arranged for the 2nd November with times
and venue to be announced. Please try and attend as we welcome
everyone involved with the club to have their say.
New Changing Facilities
Following our promotion to the Surrey Championship Premier League,
we now cannot ignore the fact that we have to improve our facilities
for Colts and players alike. We have started investigations into
costings for a new changing room for the Colts and Away Teams,
new changing facilities for the girls, new changing facilities
for the umpires and a complete rewiring of the club. These costs
have now been estimated at around £25,000. This is an enormous
amount for a club of our size and we will be looking into as many
ways of raising immediate funds to cover this cost. We aim to
complete the works by the beginning of next season. Please let
us know if you would like to help with fund raising. All donations
are also very welcome.
September Committee Meeting Minutes
The minutes are now available from the usual place.
Committee Meeting Calendar
It has been decided that the Monthly Committee Meetings will now
take place at 7.30pm on the second Thursday of every month. Therefore
the next meeting will take place on Thursday 9th October, venue
to be announced.
